NwHIN / eHealth Exchange (*)

  1. qcdr-hisp.org is planning the rollout of the necessary infrastructure for Field Maintenance of Stage 2 implementations of NwHIN (*) communication subsystems.  This includes:
  1. Automated software subsystem inventory record collection and monitoring.  This helps organizations deal with the a new security requirement stipulated by the recent 2013 HIPAA updates.
    .
  2. Automated software update detection.  NwHIN relies on millions of lines of code in other subsystems from numerous vendors.  It is imperative that the inter-related systems are frequently scanned to review any unintended consequences of updates that have not been through thorough system wide regressive testing.
    .
  3. Systemwide diagnostic integration.  Diagnosing a large communications subsystem requires efficient access to organized diagnostic datasets.  This is necessary to answer the following:

- What was the initiating event that caused a failure?

- Which module/dataset combinations initiated the failure?

Having all related log events combined into one organized composite report saves hours/days/weeks of debug time.
.

(*) The NwHIN / eHealth Exchange provides a common platform for nationwide health information exchange across diverse entities; It is a set of standards, services and policies that enable secure health information exchange (HIE) over the Internet.
